Welcome to our blog, The Good Long Life, where we explore retirement, travel, wellness, insurance, caregiving, and more.

We are Jim and Mary Robertson.   We live in New York City.  We love to travel and also have a home near the Gulf Coast of Florida.

Jim is an insurance specialist and he writes the insurance posts for our blog.  He has more than 30 years of experience as a Chartered Financial Consultant, Certified Life Underwriter, and Long Term Care Insurance Specialist.  He worked with Northwestern Mutual for 21 years, before founding the Lifelong Care Network in 2006.

Mary has more than 25 years of experience in public relations, and more recently social media.  She joined Jim in 2017 to oversee the blog and social media for Lifelong Care Network.

“In all our years of marriage, there hasn’t ever been a time when we weren’t dealing with issues of caregiving for family members,” Mary says.  “Each instance brings new concerns and challenges, and we’ve learned a lot.  We’ll share some of our experiences and information we wish we’d had ourselves along the way in the caregiving section of our blog.”

“As we explore living well into retirement, we’ll look at many things that enrich our lives, like travel, books, health choices, and more.”
